The National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, formerly Pretoria Zoo, covers 80 ha, with 6 km of walkways and just over 3100 species. Heavily involved in research and conservation, it is South Africa’s largest and best-designed zoo. It is home to the only koala bear to be born in Africa. Golf buggies are available to get around and there’s an aerial cableway and tractor rides for kids.
