Hiking is encouraged within the reserve. There are several marked paths and maps are available from the information centre. One of the most spectacular routes is along the coast from Rooikrans towards Buffels Bay. Look out for the wreck of Tania (1972). On the west side close to Olifants Bay there are a couple of walks; one to the inland lake, Sirkels Vlei, the other along the coast where you can see the wrecks of the Thomas Tucker (1942) and Nolloth (1964). You can light a braai at one of the designated areas at Buffels Bay and Bordjiesrif, but again watch the baboons.
