West of Benjamin Constant, one of the Amazon’s main tributaries, the Río Yavarí, forms the border between Peru and Brazil. This is one of the best places to observe wildlife on this section of the Amazon. There are several privately owned reserves here, with comfortable accommodation and excellent facilities for birdwatching, and dolphin and caiman spotting.
