Exuberant and exotic region which gathers the ‘cerrado’ (Brazilian savannah) and the desert. Dry and primitive, Jalapão is a must-see destination for the highly demanding adventure seekers. It is located in the heart of Brazil, 300 kilometers away from Palmas, capital of the state of Tocantins, and it borders on Bahia, Maranhão and Piauí. You can only get there through Palmas on 4X4 vehicles and that is precisely what has kept this sanctuary of beautiful and dry landscapes untouched. These conditions provide an amazing diversity of animals and plants which are totally adapted to this part of the savannah.
