Palmas airport

Palmas airport (20 km from town, Av NS 5, T063-3321 61237) receives flights from Brasília, São Paulo and Belém. A taxi into town costs around US$20 and there is an irregular shuttle bus. The rodoviária (ACSUSO 40, T061-3216 1603) is 10 km from the centre; city buses are plentiful and cheap. The city is divided into four sectors: Noroeste (NO), Nordeste (NE), Sudoeste (SO) and Sudeste (SE). Like Brasília, the different blocks are named by use and location. Some address abbreviations are Área Central (AC), Área de Comércio and Serviço Urbano (ACSU) and Área Administrativa (AA).
