Now known as the Verizon Building, Barclay-Vesey was built in 1926 and was widely considered to be the first Art Deco skyscraper. Though it was heavily damaged during the attacks on 9/11, it's has since been restored at a cost of $1.4 billion. A neo-Romanesque vaulted lobby featured ceiling murals and marble walls.
