Norðoyggjar is the north eastern group of islands in The Faroe Islands. They are from west to east: Kallsoy, Kunoy, Borðoy, Viðoy, Svínoy and Fugloy. The largest town in The Northern Islands is Klaksvík with 4638 inhabitants (July 2009). Klaksvík is the second largest town in the Faroes. Kallsoy, Svínoy and Fugloy are not connected to the other islands with road tunnels or bridges, so travellers must take a ferry in order to visit one of those three islands. Klaksvík is connected to Leirvík on the island Eysturoy with a subsea road tunnel.
