Michelin-starred chef Paul Kitching’s new restaurant 21212, in Edinburgh, opened on Wednesday 20th May 2009. A glance at the menu, carefully constructed and considered by Paul, shows that he is staying true to his modern French style of cookery, which he championed at his former restaurant Juniper, but with a more grown up approach to his menu combinations. For £60 per person the dinner menu consists of an exciting combination of dishes prepared by Paul and his team of seven chefs, which includes his sous chef from Juniper, Kate Johnson. As well as some special treats for diners, the five course gourmet menu consists of a choice of two dishes on the starter, main course and dessert courses, hence the restaurant’s name. In addition to the restaurant, the building also boasts four beautifully appointed large bedrooms, with dedicated lounge areas. They are split over the two upper levels of the house, offering commanding views over the gardens to the rear, and stunning views of the city of Edinburgh to the front. On a clear day, bedrooms 1 and 21 also offer views to the Firth of Forth and beyond. Each bedroom's decor is different in theme and style, and facilities include en suite bathrooms with either a free-standing bath and walk-in shower or a specially designed wet room. Guests also have their own flat screen plasma television, internet connection and extensive storage spaces. All four bedrooms were designed to provide a relaxed, calming and elegent mood for guests.
