Our winery is located in the warm and dry climate of Rhineland-Palatinate, in the old and traditional wine-growing village Dirmstein. Protected by the Palatinate forest, the surrounding hills with their warm and fertile loam soil provide an excellent environment and basis for the prosperity of our vines and the making of our very special wines.
As winemakers we are committed to treat our soils very gently and sustainably, strictly following the official guidelines of controlled and environmentally friendly wine making.
All grapes are picked in our own vineyards and are refined and processed in our local cellar where we mainly focus on the development of traditional grape varieties.
The combination of traditional methods with modern technology produces excellent salubrious wines of highest quality standards.
Impressive depth, paired with a fruity body and elegant acidity give our wines a ripe and professional finish - confirmed by plenty of awards and trophies.
Weingut Hilz has been family owned and operated since 1927 and since 1989 it has been under the management of Klaus Hilz - the 3rd generation of the family.
