Marquette Building

One of the first steel-framed skyscrapers in Chicago

The Marquette Building is a prime example of the famous Chicago school of architecture. Aside from its steel frame, the building also boasts a terra cotta exterior (which has darkened over time due to the city's pollution) and "Chicago windows" - large windows with a smaller, double-slash window on both sides. The lobby also features impressive mosaics and sculptures revolving around the life of Jacques Marquette, the French explorer for whom the building is named.
