Suggestion for a day:
Breakfast at Café Cherrier (on Cherrier street corner St-Denis), enjoy the french bistro type of Café where service is great and food tasteful and plenty;
Walk up St-Denis street direction north and discover a variety of styles almost hippy like, mostly second hand, fashionistas and artsi fartsies sitting on a terrace drinking coffee. Visit the galleries and enjoy the sun. Turn either right or left on Mont-Royal Street:
Right: Enjoy Mont Royal street and turn right again on St-Hubert walk down and discover the french living in Balconville. Turn right back on Cherrier street until St-Denis, turn left and go straight into the Latin Quarter - another lively neighbourhood of students, multi-culti mix of Montrealers looking to have fun.
Left: enjoy Mont Royal Street up to the Mont-Royal Park - to Montreal what is Central Park to NYC. You can either walk up the mountain to the beautiful Belvedere and discover the heart of Montreal downtown disctrict and it's line of sky scrapers, or you can walk down the park direction downtown and visit the TAMTAM - a group of locals playing drums. You can join if you like - play, dance, sing... and if not, no worries - you're wierd enough.
