Greenmarket Square is one of Cape Town's oldest markets – built in 1696 and deeply entrenched in history. The site has been a slave market, a parking lot, a political hot spot during the apartheid era, and, most recently, a flea market flanked by restaurants, cafes, and street performers. An excellent spot to buy African crafts and people watch.
