Colorado Trails Ranch, located in the beautiful San Juan Mountains just outside of Durango, Colorado, has comprehensive Western riding and childrens programs plus some of the best fly-fishing. The ranch offers an array of activities for everyone.
We tailor our riding program to accommodate all ability levels. For new riders, we teach you the basics; for experienced riders, you���ll appreciate the quality of our horses and the opportunity to do more than just nose-to-tail trail rides. We offer morning, afternoon, and an all day ride with no more than six guests to a wrangler. We group rides by ability (and desire). The rides range from scenic walks to loping through trees and meadows. Instruction is an integral part of our program. There is also a Longhorn cattle drive for advanced riders.
Colorado Trails has a fly-fishing program with over two miles of private river water, special guided trips on the San Juan River, and stocked fishing on ranch ponds. Our guides provide professional services for novice to expert fishermen. We provide all of the essential supplies our guests will need.
Our guests can enjoy our heated pool and hot tub, exciting river rafting on the Animas River, guided hikes, trap shooting and riflery, archery, and horseshoes. We offer an optional guided trip to Mesa Verde Nat���l Park (additional charge). We also offer an evening at a Victorian Melodrama, western dancing and a hayride and cowboy campfire sing-along.
Our children���s program is in three groups, age 5 to 17, with their own counselors and a program geared to their level of energy.
CTR mealtime is special, whether guests enjoy meals in our magnificent dining room or a cookout under starlit skies. Guests savor home cooking with choice meats, fish and poultry baked or grilled, garden crisp vegetables and salads, plus fresh baked breads and desserts. Our cozy cabins with comfortable porches and private baths will easily accommodate families, couples, and singles.
