Catalonia Zaragoza Plaza hotel is located just 50 metres from Zaragoza Plaza square and Basilica of Pilar, in the heart of Zaragoza�s historic centre. The hotel building is from the Modernist period and was built at the turn of the 20th century. Designed by the architect Julio Bravo, its three facades are beautifully adorned with forged metal and stone plant and floral motifs which surround the windows and balconies. Zaragoza�s Tourist Board lists the building as a local attraction. Catalonia Zaragoza Plaza has 66 rooms �8 of which can be connected and 2 of which are connecting suites�, all with air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe, minibar and marble bathrooms fully equipped with hair dryer, telephone and heating. The Roman theatre, built in 1st century AD is another sight you will not want to miss. It is one of the largest theatres of Roman Hispania and had a capacity of 6,000. Construction of the theatre first started under the rule of Tiberius and was not completed until the time of Claudius. You can learn even more about Zaragoza�s Roman period at any of the city centre�s three museums holding remains from the period: Museum of the Augustus Caesar Forum, Museum of the Augustus Caesar River Port and the Museum of the Augustus Caesar Public Hot Baths.
