A totally renovated Victorian residence is the basis of the luxurious accommodation offered at Applewood House. This, together with a very personal service from the owners, Barry and Lesley Knight, is intended to offer a most memorable stay.
Applewood House has been awarded a Gold Accolade for the second successive year by VisitBritain, who described it as “the best of the best”.
Applewood House has been sympathetically renovated, keeping the best features of its construction (large spacious rooms; original fireplaces), but adapted to meet modern requirements such as central heating, double glazing and a water system to ensure constant hot water for the showers, together with free Wi-Fi internet access.
Breakfast can range from a quick snack prior to a full day’s work or a leisurely meal before the day’s sightseeing. Always an enjoyable experience, Applewood House offers everything from a full cooked English breakfast to cold meats and cheeses, with the food being freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients, wherever possible.
Applewood House aims to provide a very high degree of comfort, including high quality bed linen, excellent towels, with furnishing of which the management are proud. The cleanliness and general structure is exceptional. As well as all this, the house meets the latest, most stringent fire and environmental health regulations.
The house is also a non-smoking establishment throughout and all guests are required to respect this policy.
