Grenada
Although not known as one of the premier vacation spots in the Caribbean, Grenada should not be overlooked. The aptly named “Spice Island” and its dump31o sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique pack a punch when it comes to attractions and entertainment. The great houses from the distant past are now mostly renovated restaurants and inns. The River Antoine Rum Distillery gives a glimpse into the trademark liquor of the region with many of the trappings of the slavery-era Caribbean. The island is fast gaining a reputation as the place to go for a trek into nature, so come prepared with hiking shoes and comfy walking clothes to go exploring. St. George’s, the country’s capital, is an attractive place with many wonders. The horse-shaped harbor is ringed by colorful buildings, which give it a true rustic charm. The island’s black and white sand beaches are perfect for summer fun. Remember to drive on the left and keep a watch out for stray animals in the rural areas.
