Czech Republic

Comfort amidst rich history - and beer.

In tune with its world-famous beer, the Czech Republic is also world champion in per capita beer consumption. But the young republic in the heart of Europe has much more to offer besides the precious art of brewing. The "golden city" of Prague is at the heart of every trip to the Czech Republic. A visit to the city should not be kept too short, since there is so much to see in this well-kept university town. Prague, the country's capital and economic and cultural center, captivates the visitor with its elegance and beauty. There's hardly a more European stroll than the one down from Prague's castle - with a view over Prague's rooftops and towers - to the old Charles Bridge. Yet the areas of Bohemia and Moravia also offer much to be explored. The world-famous spa town Carlsbad (Karlovy Vary) and Marienbad (Mariánské Lázné) combine wellness programs with historical elegance. In addition, Carlsbad offers an excellent international film festival.
