Location. The Hotel TC Santiago is housed in a modern apartment block located in the centre of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, surrounded by a park, next door to a department store, and one kilometre from the old town.
Hotel Features. In season, the hotel organises a daily guided tour of Santiago de Compostella, and sightseeing trip to other towns in Galicia. Staff at the 24-hour front desk in the marble-floored lobby can advise on this, as well as exchange currency. Alternatively, guests can use wireless Internet access, which operates throughout the building, to make their own arrangements. Garage parking is available nearby.

The marble-floored Torres de Compostela restaurant serves traditional Galician dishes in an informal atmosphere with square tables and wooden chairs. A buffet breakfast is served daily (surcharge) and aperitifs and hot drinks are available in the coffee shop.

There are seven meeting rooms seating up to 400 people, and an auditorium with modern audio-visual equipment and wireless Internet access.

Guestrooms. The 99 air-conditioned guestrooms are simply furnished in a modern style with white walls and co-ordinated bedding and curtains in terracotta tones. All have views over the parks and the town, as well as satellite television, wireless Internet access, direct-dial phones, minibars, complimentary newspapers, hair dryers, and safes.

Expert Tip. Inside the city's cathedral is the shrine of St James, which supposedly holds his bones. It has been a famous pilgrimage site for over 1000 years. So many have laid their hands on the pillar inside the doorway of the cathedral that there is now a dent. The compostela (certificate) is given to pilgrims who have walked over 100 kilometres to reach the site. Pilgrims also traditionally collect a Galician scallop shell, as proof of their trip.
