What this location says about itself

Lynam's Hotel is situated in the heart of Dublin, on the city's main thoroughfare O'Connell Street. This ideal location affords our guests immediate access to all of Dublin's entertainment, shopping and historic areas. The city is compact in nature, and so everything is only a footstep away when you stay at Lynam's. Our 24-hour reception offers excellent advice on Dublin. We welcome guests to relax in unique and comfortable surrounds. The décor has been selected to reflect the Georgian beginnings of which the hotel was a part. This serene environment has been described as `an oasis in Dublin's bustling city centre`. All the needs of the modern traveller are catered to at Lynam's. ISDN Direct Dial & Dataport are available in every room, each of which also offer full ensuite facilities, television, and tea & coffee making facilities. Lynam's Café-Bar Restaurant is located on the ground floor. Our customer service team can ensure that all of your desires are met and welcome you to enjoy a comfortable and healthy stay in the privacy of our hotel. Lynams is also home to Cafe Carlo Italian Restaurant, a newly opened brasserie style Italian restaurant which serves high quality food in a relaxed and informal environment. The hotel was originally two Georgian town houses owned by the inventor of the Tilley Lamp, Mr Frederick Tilley. The now aptly named 'O'Connell Room' located on the first floor of the hotel, would have acted as the main sitting room to its Georgian owners. The O'Connell Room affords our guests views of O'Connell Street, Ireland's main street & the new Dublin City Spire. Lynam's is spread across 63-64 O'Connell Street, No 63 was acquired by the Royal Bank in the 1820s as their Dublin Headquarters. In the 1870s the bank further expanded into the adjoining premises. It was at this stage that the ornate Victorian façade was created.
