General Information:The Clarion Hotel ' Suites is a Historic Victorian Mansion Hotel. The Mansion was the home of the Gooderham family in the late 1880s. The Mansion was sold and an addition put on in the early 1900s. It was a temporary home for Branksome Hall an exclusive girls school in Toronto. Ernest Hemingway and his wife lived here in the early 1900s while he was a reporter for a Toronto newspaper. There are two suites named for Ernest and his wife. They are the actual rooms where they stayed during their time at the Selby Hotel. Both of the Hemingway Suites boast woodburning fireplaces original to the Mansion. One of the suites is also equiped with a hot tub.
