The Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort and Spa opened in 2005 and is spread over three connected buildings situated overlooking a sandy beach on the Maltese coast. The 337 guestrooms have contemporary decor and furnishings in light colours. All guestrooms open onto balconies with sea or land views, and include wireless Internet, satellite television with pay movies, direct- dial telephones, minibars, tea and coffee making facilities, safes, and bathrooms with telephones, bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryers.<BR> Guests can swim in one of four pools, while children splash in the kids' pool. The 1,000-square metre spa and leisure centre has large windows overlooking the bay and facilities include a sauna, steam bath, fitness equipment, a hair salon and a beauty parlour. Flavours Restaurant serves buffet meals, Algio Oglios features a Mediterranean menu, and Essence serves gourmet food and offers splendid views across the bay. The Lagoon Bar and Restaurant serves a healthy menu al fresco in the garden. There are four bars, and room service is available round the clock. The hotel has a fully serviced private beach with a range of water sports including motor boating, jet skiing, and scuba diving. A tennis court and horse riding are also available. Guests can stroll to the beach 100 metres away, or travel to take the ferryboat to Gozo, 15 kilometres away. Malta International Airport is 22 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 40 minutes.
