Location. Carved into the base of a tropical hillside, the Melia Azul Ixtapa Hotel All Inclusive is located in Ixtapa, Mexico. Ixtapa's entertainment district stands five kilometers away.

Hotel Features. Eleven on-site restaurants and bars include the formal Colonial-Mexican ambience of Costa Azul that specializes in Mediterranean fare. Sunset views grace the Oyster Bar, a romantic ocean-edge restaurant. El Palmar is famous for its nightly live music performances, signature Blue Margaritas, sunset panoramas and occasional karaoke venues. A convention center with 31 meeting rooms totals nearly 7,000 square meters while a business center offers computer rentals. High-speed Internet access is available in public areas. Wireless Internet access is available right outside the Cyber Café's doors. The hotel provides board games, ping-pong equipment and two pool tables. This property also offers two lighted tennis courts, three pools with a children's water park, a sports field and a giant chess board. Water-sports equipment is available and many guests kayak to Isla de Ixtapa.

Guestrooms. This all-inclusive resort features 400 guestrooms located in three towers. Guestrooms are offered in a variety of configurations, some with balconies. Two floors in each building are non-smoking. Décor is contemporary, offering marble-tiled floors and marble-vanity bathrooms. Room amenities include satellite television, desks and safe-deposit boxes. Refrigerators are available in select accommodations.

Expert Tip. This hotel is the only property with direct access to an eight-kilometer bicycle path that runs through the tourist zone and around La Laguna del Negro, home to a variety of wildlife.
