This 4-star historical hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the historical centre only a few steps away from the Duomo and within easy walking distance from all major tourist sights. Unique hotel with a lot of character, comfortable accommodation and friendly, helpful staff. **LOCATION** The hotel boasts one of the best locations in Florence situated right in the heart of historic centre and it is ideal for immediate access to all major attractions. Central train station S.M. Novella (which has bus connection to the airport) is only 10 to 15-min walk from the hotel. Due to its central location the hotel area may be very busy and noisy during peak tourist season. **EXTERIOR** The hotel building originates from the recovered historic structures of the Byzantine tower 'Pagliazza' and the medieval church of San Michele in Palchetto. It was completely reconstructed, leaving the architectural characteristics of the era intact and yet providing all modern features. **INTERIOR**Lobby area is quite large and has a reading area. Exposed bricked walls, wood-beam ceiling and soft lighting give the area a warm, intimate feel. **LEISURE FACILITIES**There is a private museum containing historical exhibits (remains of an original Roman Calidarium hot baths and various medieval ceramics) found during the reconstruction located in the hotel's basement. There is a roof-top terrace for relaxation and breathtaking views of the Duomo. **ROOMS**Rooms are medium in size. The decor is quite modern, however the colour scheme varies. They are pleasantly decorated and traditionally furnished with mahogany colour furniture. They are carpeted throughout and are in quite a good condition. Bathrooms are in good condition, however a bit old fashioned. Rooms of top floor have splendid views. **RESTAURANTS & BARS**The hotel restaurant is located in the Byzantine Tower on 3rd floor. It has an open beamed ceiling, and original stone walls. The hotel bar is opened from 10 am to midnight. Hot & cold buffet breakfast with plentiful choice is served from 7 to 10am.
