De Flandre Hotel Ghent travel guide

Location. The Hotel de Flandre is located in central Ghent, Belgium, within 300 metres of the old Graslei harbour and 1,000-year-old Gravensteen - the Castle of the Counts. Ghent's main train station is three kilometres from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Situated in a former 19th-century coach house, the hotel is adorned with traditional shutters. The lobby, fitted with an oak staircase, has a 24-hour front desk with an express check-in and check-out service operated by multilingual staff. Here, guests can read complimentary newspapers.

Breakfast is served at a surcharge, and in fine weather can be taken on the hotel patio. A range of Belgian beers and other beverages can be enjoyed in Hotel de Flandre's bar, which features a fireplace.

Guestrooms. All 46 air-conditioned guestrooms are decorated in cream tones. Colourful contemporary artwork matches adorns the walls. Expert Tip. Hotel de Flandre's grand suite was formally the residence of Johann Strauss I while he was performing at the Opera in 1838. The room is fitted with period furniture and fabrics.
