Les Merinides Hotel Fez travel guide

Location. Les Menerides is located on a hillside overlooking Fez, Morocco, with panoramic views of the city below. The Blue Gate, and the winding alleyways and lively stalls of the Medina, are two kilometres away.

Hotel Features. Set in landscaped grounds, with palm trees shading the lawns and terraces, Les Menerides has a tiled outdoor swimming pool with views of the mountains and city. Multilingual staff at the 24- hour front desk can secure valuables in the safe-deposit box, and offer currency exchange. There are concierge services, a bar, and 24-hour room service. Wireless Internet access is available, and onsite parking is complimentary.

There are three restaurants at Les Menerides. La Terrasse de Fes serves barbecue grills in an informal setting, the poolside L'Imperial specialises in French cooking, and is open for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner, and La Kouba du Ciel is a top-floor Moroccan restaurant featuring an Andalou orchestra and belly dancers nightly. Guests on the half-board rate-plan will not be charged for breakfast or dinner.

Guestrooms. The 106 air-conditioned guestrooms have traditional decor and dark-wood furnishings. All are equipped with satellite television, wireless Internet access, minibars, and safes. Bathrooms include hair dryers and bathrobes. Half-board rates are available.

Expert Tip. Every year Fez is host to the World Sacred Music festival, when performers from sacred musical traditions all over the world flock to the city. Past acts have included Ravi Shankar and Youssou N'Dour.
