'Best Hotel in Bournemouth' by The Guardian.
This is the historic home of Edward VII & Lillie Langtry. In a country packed with over 10,000 hotels, very occasionally you stumble on a rare gem of an hotel where the building, food, service and history, blend to form something quite exceptional. This warm inviting home is not only steeped in history and romance, but offers the highest standards of fresh food and personal service. All the bedrooms are individually designed and many of them have four poster beds and Jacuzzi baths. Lillie paid particular attention to Edward’s suite when designing the House. A spacious room, with a high ceiling, contains the royal bed alongside a beautiful wooden fireplace. Lillie’s own suite includes a heart shaped corner bath and romantic balcony.
The magnificent dining room with its Minstrel’s Gallery, inglenook fireplace and stained glass windows has to be seen to be properly appreciated. The main building is accompanied by Lord Derby’s Home, the Langtry Lodge, where rooms are also allocated and it is situated 50 yards away.
Langtry Manor and Langtry Lodge is a non smoking hotel. For those wishing, there is a designated outside somking area.
