Frontera Corozal is a community of the municipality (municipio) of Ocosingo, in the Mexican state of Chiapas. It is situated on the banks of the Usumacinta River, and serves as an international border river crossing point to Guatemala, which occupies the territory on the river's eastern bank.
Frontera Corozal also serves as an access point for several nearby archaeological sites of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization, such as Yaxchilan, Tonina and Bonampak. In the 2005 census the town had a population of 4,080 inhabitants. (...) more....
