Hareid is a municipality in the county of Møre og Romsdal, Norway. Hareid was separated from Ulstein as a municipality of its own July 1, 1916. It is situated on the coast of Sunnmøre, on an island named Hareidlandet, which it shares with the municipality Ulstein and of which it is regarded by many as the capital.
