Kalkan is a lot like Kas - charming, seaside, boho, etc. Except somehow, it became a refuge for those willing to blow a lot of cash on their holiday. As a result, there's not a lot of backpackers around and it feels quieter and more out-of-the-way. If you want to escape the hordes but still be in proximity to everything the area has to offer, this is a good place to stay. But you will pay for it; even if you manage to score a room in one of the few cheap pensions in town, the admittedly-great restaurants will cost you.
