Excursion to the Bavarian Alps including a visit to the Salt Mines

The romantic Bavarian Alps will thrill you! The journey takes us via the Alpenstrasse to where we travel parallel to the King's Lake river to the Obersalzberg. Here the once rulers of the Third Reich had their residence. Although there is very little left to see except where the road, leading up to the famous Eagle's Nest starts (Hitler's former Conference Centre). The highlight of our tour still awaits as we then tour the over 450-year-old Salt Mines. Wearing traditional miners' clothes, we enter the mines and hear historical as well as legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before, we descent to the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. We end our romantic and educational adventure with a raft sail on the salt lake and a special train trip. The tour will both amaze and educate you into this underground world, great fun for all ages! Afterwards there will be a short visit to the town of Berchtesgaden before returning to Salzburg.
