Museum of Decorative Arts which is well worth a visit and boasts a famous collection of glass and porcelain

The Museum of Decorative Arts (Uměleckoprůmyslové muzeum) on the west edge of the Old Jewish Cemetery (Josefov ) was founded in 1884, and built under the supervision of architect Josef Schulz in neo-Renaissance style, 1897–1901.It houses a world-famous collection of glass, porcelain and ceramics, as well as furniture (16th–19th century) and gold artefacts (15th–19th century). Further exhibition areas include textiles, measuring instruments, book-bindings, working drawings, small bronzes and coins in their historical development (going back in some cases to the 8th century AD). On occasion there are also very carefully prepared temporary exhibitions.The specialist art history and decorative arts library is open to the public; it includes a collection of 15th-century manuscripts.
