Black Rock City is a temporary place of residence for up to 50,000 people which comes to life literally during the Burning Man Festival. This festival takes place in late August annually. The settlement is built of tents, sculpture and people all present in order to share peace love and art.
It is a civic community, pledging to leave the desert clean, and perhaps even better than they found it. It is built in an old river bed.
