El-Qasr lies on a hill. El-Qasr some of which are overbuilt, and a ruined castle. The 20m/65ft-high minaret of the 11th-century Nasr el Din Mosque (near the new mosque) has been saved from decay. Pottery has a long tradition in El-Qasr. A shop at the edge of the village sells ceramics and the typical local water pitchers.
