It includes the monumental New Opera House
South of the Cairo tower, the cultural centre was inaugurated in 1988. The complex, which was designed by a group of Japanese and Egyptian architects, includes the monumental New Opera House, which is reminiscent of medieval Arab fortifications and contains three auditoriums, as well as a library and a museum of modern Egyptian art, where paintings, graphics and sculptures provide an overview of Egyptian art in the 20th century on three floors.
