Corniche el-Nil travel guide

A few steps west of Midan el-Tahrir is the Corniche el-Nil, the shore road which runs along the Nile and is bordered by modern hotels and imposing buildings

The large building at the Midan is the “Mugamma”, an office tower for the ministries of public traffic. This is also the quay for the local boat transport connecting the two banks of the Nile in the southern city region down as far as Old Cairo and the island of Rhoda.
