On the northern side of the island Phi Phi Lay there are cave paintings which remain a mystery to scholars
They are often called Viking paintings, but the ships portrayed can hardly have been painted by the Norsemen. Many other caves, some of them considered sacred, are the impressive result of natural processes that have continued for millennia.
