The Lagunas de Montebello (Montebello Lakes) comprise 60 small and medium-sized lakes.
Sparkling in a variety of beautiful colours, the lakes cover the area from the entrance to the National Park (6,700ha/16,566ac) as far as Guatemala in the east and into La Selva Lacandona. The lakes stretch through a terraced landscape, covered in large part by pine forests and still almost untouched. Aside from the lakes, there are also quite a number of sinkholes, grottoes and waterfalls. This is indeed a beautiful region for a holiday or an outing.
