North Charleroi is a borough in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,409 at the 2000 census.
The city is also known as "Lock 4". Previously Lock and Dam #4 was located on this side of the Monongahela River, and the place had this name. Lock and Dam #4 was later re-located further upstream on the other side of the "Charleroi Monessen Bridge". The name was changed but most residents still refer to the city as "Lock 4". (...) more....
