Hermann, the county seat of Gasconade County, Missouri, was incorporated in 1845. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 2,674. The town is located near the center of the Missouri Rhineland on the Missouri River. Hermann is perhaps most famously known for its wineries. Hermann is home to Stone Hill Winery, (the largest winemaking business in the state) and http://www.hermannhof.com/ Hermannhof Winery. Two miles south of town just off of Missouri Highway 100 West is http://www.adampuchtawine.com/ Adam Puchta Winery, and Bias Winery is less than eight miles east of town on Missouri Highway 100 East.
