Hessmer travel guide

Hessmer is a village in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 642 at the 2000 census.
The town was named by William Edenborn, railroad tycoon, who named the depot which came through the area, between the communities of Norma and Corner, in 1902. In 1955 the town was incorporated, according the book Hessmer Station, A Railroad Community turns 100 authored by Arlene Flanders and Randy DeCuir. (...) more....
