Belmond travel guide

Belmond is a city in Wright County, Iowa, United States. It is located along U.S. Highway 69, 14 miles by road from Clarion, the county seat. The population was 2,560 at the 2000 census.
On October 14, 1966, a tornado ripped apart the community, destroying or damaging about 600 homes and 75 businesses. Six people were killed and large swaths of the town were left in ruins.
