Indialantic is a town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,944 at the 2000 census. As of 2005, the population estimated by the U.S. Census Bureau is 3,076 http://www.census.gov/popest/cities/tables/SUB-EST2005-04-12.xls. The official name is "Indialantic-By-The-Sea." The seldom-used term applies only to the incorporated town itself.
The name is a portmanteau derived from the town's location between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.
