Bayside Travel Guide

Bayside, California is a region located in the northern part of the state, along the coast, in Humboldt County. Though Bayside has its own post office, it is formally part of Arcata and has no mayor. It is policed by the county sheriff. Bayside is home to many middle class families, mostly Caucasian. Most parents work away from the home, some at the nearby Humboldt State University or in the timber industry that exists in Northern California. Many children in Bayside attend Jacoby Creek Elementary School, a charter elementary school in the area.
Bayside is surrounded by pastures and second growth forests and dotted with aging Victorian houses. The Bayside Grange (built 1941), a historical meeting hall for farmers in Bayside, is still used as an all-purpose hall for the community. Right across the street, in the original Jacoby Creek School building, is the site of a Hot Yoga studio. Bayside is also home to Hank's Coffee Shop across the street from Jacoby Creek School. Hank's was once called Bayside Market (home of the famous 'Hank Dogs'), and the original Hank ran the Bayside Market for many years, up until the early 1990s. In 2004, Hank's niece bought the building, and did a complete make-over and naming it Hank's Coffee Shop. One time employee of Bayside Market, Travis Percell, is now a successful and sexy engineer, building rockets for NASA. (...) more....
