Maumelle is a planned community in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States, founded by Jess Odom with federal assistance from the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 14,318. However, a special 2006 census conducted by the Census Bureau found 15,115 people in Maumelle (March 9, 2006). Maumelle is northwest of Little Rock, bordering the opposite shore of the Arkansas River, and is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-AR Metropolitan Statistical Area.
