A beautiful building in a beautiful place
Directly in the city square (Plaza de la Patria) is the town hall Palacio de Gobierno (Palacio Municipal) and the Governor’s Palace (Palacio del Gobierno, built in the 17th and 18th centuries), which used to be the Palais des Marqués de Guadalupe (palace of the Marques of Guadalupe). Rivera-student Osvaldo Barra Cunningham’s murals decorate the inner courtyard of the grand Baroque building. The murals depict agricultural life and industry in Aguascalientes.
