If you are visiting Sao Paulo City, and you are tired of all the concrete and the density of skyscrapers, you definitely need to go to Brotas. The small town is located well in the middle of Sao Paulo State and is famous for its natural beauties, in fact it is one of the famous places for eco tourism. The nature is well preserved and the Mata Atlantica (the typical vegetation) is greener than green.
What's most worth seeing in this area is the abundance of water springs, rivers and a wonderfull small lake with a "singer sand". In these places, the water makes it way out through the bottom of the lake, so you get a sense of floating because the constant flow is pushing you up! It's an amazingly different feeling.
The waterfalls all around Brotas are also magical. Get a guide tour and try to visit some of them. If you love adventure don't forget to practice some sports such as rafting or kayak, there are plenty of tour operators available. In case you are looking for some culture, a good option is to visit the museum of old cars in the center of the city and finally to relax, visit the cachaça ( a liquor made of sugar cane) house and try the different flavors. Enjoy!

Through the pioneering work of Dada Moreira and his Aventura Especial group the past three Brazilian Ministers of Tourism have taken an active interest in expanding "turismo inclusivo" - Inclusive Tourism.
