Part of a historical complex of garden palaces, used as a summer residence by the Qajar family and other nobility, up to Mohamad Shah Qajar's death in 1848. Over the subsequent years the compound changed hands between various people and groups, including a period in which it was used as a school. After the Iranian revolution in 1979, the compound became a training ground for film making, until 2002. Since 2002, it houses the Film Museum of Iran. The Iranian motion picture called 'Bagh-e-Ferdows, 5 O'clock in the Afternoon (2005)' shows a public park in front of this garden, from where the main palace is in view.
