Masaya's Tranquility
Laguna de Apoyo is located between Masaya and Granada. The best views of Laguna de Apoyo are from el Mirador de Catarina along the road which connects Masaya and Diria. Also along this strecth of road you will find Los Pueblos Blancos and grou of Artisan villages, the best and cheapest of which is San Juan del Oriente.
To actually get down to the laguna itself you need to take the road to Granada and there is a turn off on the right. I always stay at the Monkey Hut Hostel, cheap and clean. Kayaks, floating donuts and swimming all come included in the accommodation price.
