Cabo San Lucas beach resort at the southern end of the 1,700km/1,056mi-long Transpeninsular Highway is now crowded with hotel and apartment buildings all the way along the coast and into Cabo San Lucas. Further inland, between the Avenues Niños Héroes and 20 de Noviembre, visitors also find a quiet town square and an anthropology museum. All kinds of aquatic sports are on offer, such as offshore fishing, water skiing, diving and snorkelling, paragliding and bungee jumping. The Arco del Carbo San Lucas cliff, the symbol of the resort city, can be reached by boat. The ocean has hollowed out the rock and shaped it into an archway.
