Greenpoint, Brooklyn

Down-to-earth neighborhood with loads of hipsters and pierogies

Located just north of Williamsburg, Greenpoint absorbs quite a bit of the hipster runoff; though you'd think the face of the neighborhood would have changed, Greenpoint is as neighborhood-y as ever. This laid-back little gem is best known for its Polish community - many signs are just in Polish, and teetering grandmas command the sidewalk. There are still more Polish delis and butchers than there are hipster bars and restaurants, and it's likely to stay that way for now.

Greenpoint is a bit far away from Manhattan, that's why still few people are moving out here. But you can find some cool bars here!
